I fished with Coastal Corrosion Control again today.  We ended up a nice catch of speckled trout that all averaged in the 2.5 to 3.5 pound range.  We didn't limit out but they really enjoyed catching the big ones.  The group had a great time and will be back to fish with us again!

May 6, 2011
I had the pleasure of fishing with a group of customers being entertained by Coastal Corrosion Control of Baton Rouge today.  We had an amazing day of catching 344 speckled and white trout.  We didn't quite have our limit of speckled trout, but the white trout more than made up for that.  The weather was beautiful and the group had a great time fishing with us. How often do you get to say you caught 300 pounds of trout?

April 5, 2011

July 14, 2010
Today Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Robert Barham and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission announced significant openings to recreational fishing.  With this action, approximately 86 percent of recreational fishing in Louisiana will be open immediately.

July 8, 2010
Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission chose to reinstitute a complete closure to recreational fishing in all Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries closure areas.  This action by the commission reverses the Secretary of the Department's decision earlier this week to allow the recreational catch and release of finfish in closed areas.
Fishermen may continue to transit through closed areas with fish legally harvested from open waters but may not fish in any closed area.

July 7, 2010
LAWF has announced that the state waters that have been closed, will now be open to "catch and release" fishing.  Recreational catch-and-release fishing is allowed as long as no finfish are possessed in the closed area.  Fishermen can continue to transit through the closed areas with fish legally harvested from open waters but may not fish in a closed area while possessing any species of fish.
Mr. Billy and Clark got tired of being locked up due to wind and rain, and decided to make a run for their favorite redfishing hole when the rain stopped this afternoon. When they arrived they popped six fast redfish. Then the rain returned, but they decided to stick it out and finish their limit. We grilled the reds and chill out with a few glasses of wine at the camp.

July 2, 2010
Hurricane Alex and it's feeder bands blew through with strong east to southeast winds and caused our coastal areas to have higher than normal tides.  The state has closed some of our coastal fishing areas including Cocodrie and areas south of  Dulac / Dularge as a precautionary measure.  Our offshore fishing grounds, located in federal waters, remain open and we will continue to fish.

June 25, 2010
I had the pleasure of fishing with Rusty Kaiser, his lovely wife Tammy, and a few of his buddies on Friday, June 25. The conditions were right; sunny skies, calm winds and a great group of eager fishermen. We headed out to my favorite amberjack rig, and caught 6 that ranged from 35 to 50 pounds. Next we hit a few shrimp boats and landed 5 cobia and a blackfin tuna, unfortunately the blackfin didn't really turn on. Then we shallowed up approximately to 170 feet of water and red snapper bite was fast and furious. They ranged from 11 to 25 pounds. The biggest snapper of the day was caught by Tammy Kaiser, it weighed in at 25 pounds! We added two nice mangrove snapper to finish filling the box. All in all we ended up with about 650 pounds of fish and a great time was had by all!

June 18, 2010
The red snapper season opened on June 1st and Clark has been offshore rig fishing and consistantly catching 500 to 700 pounds of amberjack, cobia, grouper, red snapper, mangrove snapper, blackfin tuna, king mackeral, trigger fish, lesser jack, chicken dolphin, and jack crevalle.  He has also done a llittle marsh fishing for redfish and drum, and a few shoreline trips for speckled trout.  Give us a call to book your fishing trip.

June 12, 2010
I have heard some really wild rumors circulating about what is happening in my back yard, so I thought I would put some of your minds at ease.  Contrary to popular belief, the Dulac and Cocodrie areas are not covered in oil.  Cocodrie is basically shut down to fishing because BP has rented out everything: the marinas, the charter fishing boats, the restaurants, and even a ton of camps.  The businesses in Cocodrie are making a ton of money off of BP.
We are still fishing here in Dulac.  Most of our fishing grounds are open and fishing has been awesome.  Clark and I refuse to let the media and rumors flying out of Cocodrie, run us out of business!  As long as the state of Louisiana and the federal government allow us to fish we will continue to do so.  The shrimping season is open, our oyster grounds are open, and the state says our seafood is safe to eat.  So please don't hesitate to come to our area, we would appreciate any business we can get!!!

June 8, 2010
The fishing this last week has been awesome!  The redfish have been on fire, and Clark has been able to catch his limits and get home early.  The offshore fishing has been great too!  He caught his limit of red snapper, a few cobia, a few amberjack, grouper, almaco jack, and trigger fish.  The best news of all is that the state of Louisiana has reopened some of trout fishing grounds!!!  Our seafood is safe to eat, the shrimp season has opened, and we need to work; so come on down to south Louisiana to get in on some of our great fishing!!!

May 25, 2010
Clark fished offshore  today with a loyal customer who is an avid fly fisherman.  He caught cobia, amberjack, jack cravelle,  mangrove snapper, and almaco jack.  Everyone had a good time and our loyal customer will be fishing with us again soon!!!

May 20, 2010
Speckled trout, redfish, drum, and sheephead are plentiful.  The red snapper season opens on June 1st and Clark has dates available.  Our fishing grounds are open and our seafood is safe to eat!  Come to south Louisiana for a memorable fishing adventure!

May 18, 2010
This last month has met us with volumes of phone calls from customers concerned about the BP oil spill.  Terrebonne Parish has fared well so far.  The fishing grounds are open and we are ready to take you fishing!!!  The shrimp season is open, our seafood is safe, and we need to work!!!  Please don't let the media scare you all to death.  The last few times Clark fished offshore, he caught cobia, trigger fish, mangrove snapper, almaco jack, and mackerel.  He spotted some huge amberjack, but could not get them to bite on anything.  He also caught and released hundreds of red snapper, including some that were huge!!!
God Bless you and your family,
Angie

PS - The red beans, jambalaya & fried speckled trout was super yummy!!!

May 16, 2010
Clark and I  braved the weather today to get out and catch some nice sized speckled trout.  We are planning to cook up a big pot of Louisiana red beans and rice,  jambalaya, and fried speckled trout.  I would have liked to be able to catch some redfish too, but the inclement weather chased us in.

May 1, 2010
We want to thank all of our customers who have called us concerning the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  We are happy to announce that we are not currently affected by the oil spill, and we pray that we won't be!  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the 11 missing crew members, and everyone else that is affected by this disaster!

March 30, 2010
South Louisiana is the place to be if you are looking for redfish, bullreds, and drum.

March 19, 2010
I took the boys out for a few hours of fishing this afternoon, they had fun catching bull reds and drum.  I also got a report from fellow charter captain, he stated that his group caught 100 speckled trout.  We didn't see any, but we were only fishing for a few hours.

March 14, 2010
It was extremely windy but we managed to catch our limit of bull drum and a few bull reds too.

March 7, 2010
This past week has produced redfish, bullreds and bull drum.  We can't wait till the water temps rise so that the trout fishing will be more consistent.

Feb. 28, 2010
South Louisiana fishing has be awesome!  Now that the weather is starting to warm up the speckled trout are beginning to show up in larger quantities.  As usual the Dulac, LA  area is consistently producing easy limits of redfish, bullreds, and bull drum.
